Former KKK grand wizard David Duke pulled a fast one on us all. He floated a congressional run, then announced a senatorial one in the state of Louisiana, seemingly emboldened by his presidential candidate, Donald Trump, and his various stances.
National Republican Senatorial Committee Executive Director Ward Baker quickly responded to the announcement.
We will not support David Duke. Several GOP candidates in LA will have a great impact on our country. He is not one of them. #LASEN

So did other Louisianan senatorial candidates.
I’ll be damned if I allow David Duke or any agitator to make a mockery of the great state of La. https://t.co/yZXzsC99Bt #lasen #tcot

David Duke’s brand of hate is not wanted or welcome. Without question, I condemn his entrance into the race. #lasen

In fact, the LA GOP in general was pretty swift in their disavowal.
.@DrDavidDuke is a felon & a hate-filled fraud who does not embody the values of the GOP. We will be actively opposing his candidacy. #lasen

Duke has responded to their distancing themselves from him with his own video.

He thanked them for “coming out against” him. Interesting tactic.
