The race for Louisiana governor just got ratcheted up a few notches with what’s being described as a brutal new ad against Senator David Vitter.
Vitter, for those not aware, got caught up in a 2007 scandal when his number was found in a D.C. madam’s list and publicly admitted to sinning. He publicly moved past it, won reelection in 2010, and now he’s mounting a campaign for governor.
But his opponent John Bel Edwards has a brutal new ad out saying Vitter “answered a prostitute’s call minutes after he skipped a vote honoring 28 soldiers who gave their lives in defense of our freedom.”
And then, the kicker:
“David Vitter chose prostitutes over patriots.”
Ouch. (Especially when you look at what’s in the background when that text appears on the screen.)
Needless to say, it got quite the Twitter reaction:

If John Bel Edwards is actually running this ad in LAGOV, then don't believe the polls showing him comfortably up. https://t.co/FbqAj3UeKl
